Nguyễn Bảo Phát Triumphs at Stage 6 of the VGA Junior Tour 2025:

The Composure of a Champion

Right from the opening round, Bảo Phát showed confidence and precision, shooting 68 (-4) in windy conditions at Dong Trieu. He maintained his steady form in round two with a 70 (-2), and sealed the win with a final-round 71 (-1). Scoring under par in all three rounds was impressive enough — but even more remarkable was his mental fortitude and course management, qualities that often pose the toughest challenges for young golfers.

This victory marked Nguyễn Bảo Phát’s first-ever win on the VGA Junior Tour circuit — a milestone that underscores his rapid progress. After several strong seasons frequently finishing near the top, he has now found the formula for success: a blend of solid technique, sound strategy, and professional composure.

A Tight Race to the Finish

Finishing runner-up was Nguyễn Trọng Hoàng, the 2025 Vietnam Amateur Open champion. With an explosive opening round of 67, Trọng Hoàng briefly led the field and set up a thrilling head-to-head battle with Bảo Phát. Though he encountered difficulties in the following rounds (75–72), he fought hard to close at -2, reinforcing his status as one of the season’s brightest young stars.

Phạm Thế Nam secured third place at +5, thanks to a composed final round (71). His result reflected perseverance and steady progress within the VGA Junior Tour system. Following closely behind were Nguyễn Văn Hòa and Nguyễn Quang Đại, who claimed fourth and fifth respectively — rounding out a leaderboard that showcased the depth and talent of Vietnam’s junior golf scene.

'A Shower of Eagles'

Beyond the title chase, Stage 6 also treated spectators to a “rain of eagles”, with six young golfers achieving this rare feat:

Nguyễn Vũ Hoàng Anh (Hole 8), Nguyễn Gia Vinh (Hole 16), Phạm Hồng Quang (Hole 4), Nguyễn Quang Đại (Hole 15), Trần Thế Bảo (Hole 8), Nguyễn Nam Thắng (Hole 1)

These moments of brilliance reflected the rising technical level and competitive maturity of Vietnam’s junior golfers — a generation unafraid to aim high, adapt quickly, and perform under pressure.

With Stage 6 complete, the VGA Junior Tour 2025 has now passed its halfway point, producing six different champions across six events — a testament to the depth and parity of Vietnam’s junior golf landscape. There is no single dominant player, but rather a dynamic field where each tournament becomes a new stage for fresh talent to shine.

Ahead lie the final two stages — crucial opportunities for players to earn valuable points in the Race to TaylorMade standings, and to strengthen their case for international tournament opportunities.

Support from Dedicated Partners

The success of the VGA Junior Tour is made possible through the steadfast support of sponsors and partners committed to the growth of youth golf in Vietnam, including: Thăng Long TM Vietnam JSC (TaylorMade), Silk Path Dong Trieu Golf & Country Club, Mira TAV Co., Ltd., SGA Academy, Jaga Vietnam Academy, Vietnam Golfer Forum (GVN), Sola Golf & Fitness Academy, Quang Ninh Gate Hotel & Resort, Els Performance Golf Academy (EPGA)

Their contributions represent not only material support but also a powerful source of inspiration, helping young golfers pursue their professional dreams with confidence and purpose.

Nguyễn Bảo Phát’s triumph in Dong Trieu is more than a personal milestone — it symbolizes the resilient spirit and growing power of Vietnamese junior golf. Each swing from these young athletes carries a shared dream: to prove that Vietnam’s next generation is ready to rise, compete, and make its mark on the global stage.
