Vietnam national golf team ready for SEA Games 33
Rolling Hills: A True International Challenge
This year’s golf events will take place at Siam Country Club Rolling Hills, a course widely regarded by experts as highly strategic.
Key challenges include:
- Fast greens, demanding precise line-reading skills and exceptional putting feel.
- Undulating fairways, requiring full control over trajectory and landing spots.
- Deep, strategically placed bunkers, ready to punish any off-line tee shot.
The course is set at 7,162 yards for Men and 6,454 yards for Women — comparable to professional tournament standards — signaling that the Organizing Committee aims to deliver a competition that tests physical endurance, technical excellence, and competitive resilience.
Vietnam Team: Strategic Optimization and Adaptation
Throughout the past week, the team has maintained an intensive training schedule to adapt to green speed, wind patterns, and hazardous areas on the course. Coaches closely monitored each athlete, fine-tuning strategy based on ball-flight tendencies, distance-control capabilities, and daily physical readiness.
At this stage, preparation is no longer about “training more,” but about training with precision — optimizing every detail to enter competition with maximum confidence.

Four Targets
Vietnam will compete in all four golf events: Men’s Individual, Women’s Individual, Men’s Team, and Women’s Team.
Individual events: total Gross score over four rounds, emphasizing stability and mental endurance across 72 holes.
Team events:
- Men’s Team: best score of three players each day.
- Women’s Team: best score of two players each day.
This scoring format allows an outstanding individual to create a significant scoring advantage, while still requiring consistency from the entire team to remain competitive.
Vietnamese referees making their mark
A notable highlight this year is the presence of two Vietnamese referees — Vũ Nguyên and Bạch Cường Khang — appointed to officiate at SEA Games 33. Their selection reflects the growing credibility, professionalism, and technical expertise of Vietnam’s golf officiating system, an important foundation as the nation continues its long-term development of the sport.
Opening Round Tee Times (Local Time):
| Tee1 | Golfer | Tee 10 | Golfer |
| 8h33 | Nguyễn Anh Minh | 8h00 | Lê Chúc An |
| 8h44 | Hồ Anh Huy | 8h11 | Lê Nguyễn Minh Anh |
| 8h55 | Nguyễn Trọng Hoàng | 8h22 | Nguyễn Viết Gia Hân |
| 9h06 | Nguyễn Tuấn Anh |
The Vietnamese golfers competing tomorrow have all shown strong form throughout 2024–2025, particularly the emerging talents rising from junior and amateur pathways across Vietnam.
SEA Games 33 presents a crucial opportunity for Vietnam’s young golfers — many of whom have developed through the Faldo Series, Vietnam Amateur Series, Vietnam Junior programs, and even the US Junior Amateur — to step onto the regional stage with the ambition to break through, not merely participate.
This SEA Games campaign is more than a medal hunt. It is a test of maturity, a validation of Vietnam’s youth-focused development strategy, and a new chapter in the nation’s journey to establish its position in Southeast Asian golf.
The team is ready. The next four days of competition will reveal the true measure of their preparation, resolve, and competitive spirit.
