The Golfers Tournament: Honoring referees, caddies, and course maintenance teams at the Awards Ceremony

The Golfers Tournament: Honoring referees, caddies, and course maintenance teams at the Awards Ceremony

But The Golfers Tournament 2025, held at Thanh Lanh Valley Golf & Resort (Phu Tho), did exactly that — and in doing so, created a deeply humanistic impression, embodying the spirit of “Continuing the History – Spreading Golf Vietnam.”

Honoring the Champion’s Teammate

After two intense rounds over a challenging 7,200-yard course, golfer Ho Khac Luan was crowned champion, displaying steady performance, mental toughness, and remarkable composure amid the cold northern rain. Yet, when he stepped up to receive his trophy, the next name called wasn’t the runner-up — it was the champion’s caddie, the person who had walked every hole by his side throughout the grueling 36-hole journey.

It was a truly special moment. For the first time in Vietnam, a caddie was recognized as an integral part of victory — with an official award and words of gratitude from the organizing committee. For The Golfers Tournament, triumph belongs not only to the player holding the club, but also to the trusted companion who shares every decision, every risk, and every swing.

“Without the caddie, a golfer can only walk half the journey,” said a representative of the organizing committee. “We want to send the message that golf is a sport of teamwork — even within an individual competition.”

Appreciating the Course Maintenance Team – The Keepers of the Fairway’s Soul

No golf course can shine without the hands of those who maintain it — the course maintenance team that works from dawn, when dew still clings to the greens, ensuring that every fairway, bunker, and green meets tournament standards.

At The Golfers Tournament, they were recognized not just as technical staff, but as the artisans of the golf course’s beauty.

The Organizing Committee presented a special award to the Thanh Lanh Valley maintenance team, acknowledging their professionalism, precision, and dedication. During two days of cold rain, they tirelessly preserved the course’s playability — managing drainage, grooming the greens, and maintaining standard speed levels. Their efforts ensured the event could unfold smoothly, fairly, and safely — a foundation of any top-tier golf tournament.

Referees – Guardians of Fair Play

Alongside the champion, caddie, and maintenance crew, the referee team was also honored at the awards gala. Often unnoticed, these individuals are the guardians of professionalism, ensuring that every shot and ruling adheres to the rules of golf and the spirit of sportsmanship.

In the harsh playing conditions, referees had to resolve numerous technical challenges — from handling waterlogged lies to determining drops and interference rulings. Their impartial, precise decisions safeguarded the fairness of the competition and mutual respect among players — values that define The Golfers Tournament.

Spreading the Spirit of “Golf for Development”

Honoring these behind-the-scenes contributors was more than a gesture of gratitude — it was a cultural statement: that golf is not merely a sport of results, but a story of respect, collaboration, and sustainable growth.

The Golfers Tournament embodies the philosophy of “Golf for Development” — where everyone, regardless of their role, helps elevate and spread the values of Vietnamese golf.

As the gala lights dimmed, the image of caddies, referees, and course staff stepping onto the stage to warm applause became a beautiful symbol — one of recognition and appreciation. Because in golf, victory is not just about scoring under par, but about how we treat those who share the journey.

With that, The Golfers Tournament has set a new standard for Vietnamese golf — where every contribution, however quiet, deserves to be celebrated.
